The first decade of the New Millennium became the decade from hell because of wars, recessions, foreclosures, and 10% unemployment statistics. A new 2008 president was seen as the man to right a bobbing ship. He tried, but was blown out of the water in the 2010 mid-term elections by Tea Party turbulence as they threw tea in the water again as a metaphor of the turbulent era. Our politicians are now embroiled in a fight to stop tax breaks for wealthy citizens and to stop earmark perks. It seems like an impossible human task to right a sinking governmental ship; so it'll take some real time this time.
